Summary Description:
This position is responsible for providing support to ensure quality customer service and meals to residents, patients, visitors, and staff for Sublette County Health dietary services. The areas of influence would include but are not limited to Kitchen, Main dining hall, Skilled Nursing dining hall, serveries, patient meals, and catering.

Supervision Received: Reports directly to Cook.

Responsibilities:
1. Works with other kitchen staff members to provide quality food services in clean dining areas to patients, residents, guests, and the public.
2. Must be able to read and follow specific therapeutic diet information and record the amount of food consumed by hospital patients and skilled nursing care residents.
3. Serves desserts, following portion control standards and maintaining food safety standards.
4. Clean all dining areas per guidelines, ensuring a clean, safe, and functional work area.
5. Follows proper standards for personal hygiene, hair cover and sanitation.
6. Assist in organizing and putting away supplies after deliveries, restocking kitchen and server areas per guideline.
7. Maintains equipment in a clean and orderly manner and works safely when working with equipment and when lifting.
8. Identifies and reports any unsafe/unsanitary conditions to supervisor.
9. Communicates the mission, ethics, and goals of the hospital. Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices. Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner.
10. Demonstrates responsibility for knowing and adhering to all District and departmental policies and procedures.
11. Understands the importance of patient confidentiality and HIPM rules and regulations.
12. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
1. High School Diploma or equivalent required.
2. Knowledge of commercial food preparation and nutrition experience preferred.
3. Knowledge of food safety procedures preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Self-motivated, organized, able to multi-task with extreme attention to detail.
2. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation.
3. Proficiency with e-mails.
4. The ability to coordinate, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines.

Working Conditions:
1. Subject to varying situations including ability to understand and respond appropriately, effectively, and sensitively to special population groups, including those defined by race, ethnicity, language, age, sex, sexual orientation, economic standing, etc.
2. Frequent contact with a variety of people including prisoners and people with mental, emotional, and physical disabilities.
3. Medical office, exam room, laboratory, radiology, emergency room and professional practice settings. Frequent exposure to communicable diseases and other conditions common to rural clinic environments.
4. The work environment involves exposure to unusual elements, potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment.
5. May require travel between District sites.

Physical Demands:
Varied activities include standing, walking, reaching, bending, and lifting. Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients. Also requires manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. It requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carry items weighing up to fifty pounds. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. This position frequently requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours. Year-round highway travel between clinics and other facilities throughout the district is required.

Pay: Dependent on Experience.
