| Description: | Pinedale Animal Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Kennel Assistant. As a Kennel Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care for our furry friends. This position is ideal for someone with a passion for animals and a desire to work in a veterinary or pet care setting.
Responsibilities:
- Provide daily care and attention to animals in the kennel, including feeding, watering, and exercising
- Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and common areas to maintain a safe and hygienic environment
- Assist with animal restraint during examinations and procedures
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to the veterinary staff
- Administer medications or treatments as directed by veterinary professionals
- Assist with grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and nail trims
- Maintain accurate records of animal care and treatment
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a veterinary or pet care setting is preferred
- Ability to handle heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) and perform physically demanding tasks
- Knowledge of animal behavior and ability to safely restrain animals
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions from veterinary professionals
- Ability to work well in a team environment
