Cowboy Shop Classic Rodeo

The annual Cowboy Shop Classic Rodeo was held this weekend at the Pinedale Rodeo Grounds. The event is for Sublette County & LaBarge residents only, or by special invitation. Saturday's events included team and open roping and awarding of the Bud Sommers Memorial. The Cowboy Shop Classic was held on Sunday. Prizes were two $1,600 saddles to the top header and heeler. The saddles were made by Tom Colerick of Tom's Saddle Shop. Six, $250 McGee Brothers buckles were also awarded. Other prizes included Justin boots, Ariat jackets, Double-H boots, Tony Lama boots, Wrangler jeans and Cinch clothing. All entrants received a free shirt. The event is sponsored by the Sublette County Sporting Association and the Cowboy Shop.
"The winner of the Bud Sommers Memorial was (no other than) Bob Bing!! We managed to keep the secret for the 3 months it took to have the buckle made and he was surprised," said wife, and co-rodeo organizer, Carolyn Bing.
