Update on Gary Lankford
November 2, 2004
Here’s an update on Gary Lankford, who has been at the Huntsman Cancer Center in Salt Lake City undergoing treatment for a form of leukemia, Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML), a condition that results from the body not producing enough healthy blood cells. Gary is the son of local Pinedale family Dave and Mary Lankford He is a 2002 graduate of Pinedale High School and has been living in Billings, Montana.
We wrote an article earlier requesting good well wishes be sent to Gary to help him get through these difficult times. Many of you responded and did send cards and e-mails, for which the family is very grateful. We spoke with Mary today and she reports that Gary is doing better and is currently home for awhile back in Pinedale before having to return to Salt Lake City for more treatment.
“We just wanted to thank you for the prayers, cards and emails that have flooded Gary over the past three weeks. He was released on Friday, October 22nd, which is early for this stage of treatment, because he is doing so great! He will be home for a couple of weeks and will return to the Huntsman on November 8th for the next round of chemotherapy. Gary will be there for 1-2 weeks and will be able to return home for a few weeks. This will probably continue through February. We appreciate your support, prayers and friendship as we continue to Gary’s complete recovery.” –Dave & Mary Lankford
