Utah Snowmobiler killed near Bondurant

A man from Salt Lake City, Utah, was killed on Friday, February 4th, while snowmobiling in the Hoback ranches area near Bondurant, according to a news release from the Sublette County Sheriff’s Office on Monday.
Jay Cameron Court, Jr, age 30, apparently lost control of his Polaris snow machine and hit a tree off the main road. He was snow machining in the Hoback ranches area with several friends from Utah. He became separated from them and they were searching for him. Erik Caldwell, of Hoback ranches, found the snow machine and the man’s body. The accident occured on the Hoback ranches road about 2-1/2 miles off US Highway 191 near Bondurant.
Court apparently died of massive head and possible internal injuries from the crash. A helmet was at the scene, but investigators are unsure if he was wearing the helmet. He was transported to Hudson Funeral Home in Pinedale, and then to Salt Lake City for burial. No autopsy is scheduled. The case remains under investigation and the outcome of toxicology.
This is the first snow machine fatality this season in Sublette County.
