Crash kills Alpine woman near Hoback Junction
March 27, 2005
Heidi Issler, 41, of Alpine, Wyoming, was killed in an accident two miles south of Hoback Junction on Thursday, March 24th. Her passenger, 10-year old Haylee Issler, was sent to St. John’s Hospital in Jackson with injuries. Genevon M. Hinset of Nampa, Idaho, driving a truck tractor Freightliner for Covenant Transport, Inc, was not injured in the accident.
According to a report from the Wyoming Highway Patrol, the Issler vehicle was southbound on US 89 when the driver lost control of the vehicle on an icy curve. The vehicle crossed the center line into the northbound lane and struck the left front of the Hinseth tractor/trailer combination. The collision caused the commercial tractor/trailer combination to jackknife and block both lanes of travel on US 89. This caused US 89 to be closed for several hours. The airbags did deploy in the Issler vehicle. Seatbelts were in use by Haylee Issler and Hinseth, however not by Heidi Issler, who died at the scene.
