SW District Music Festival
Pinedale High Music Department performs well

The Pinedale High School music department traveled to Kemmerer Friday and Saturday, April 15 & 16, to participate in the annual Southwest Wyoming District Music Festival. While there, the concert band, concert choir, jazz band and numerous solos and ensembles performed for their judges.
The 62 piece concert band earned a II+ rating and a I rating from their adjudicators. The jazz band received two (superior) ratings from their judges. Both bands had a half-hour clinic with adjudicator Nick Morrison, a professor from Utah State University. One instrumental solo performed the next day. Gracy Huntley received a I (superior) rating on her flute solo accompanied by her mother JJ Huntley. The other adjudicator for the bands was Bob Matthews. He is the string teacher at Cheyenne East High School. The Pinedale Choir did very well also with the Concert Choir receiving two II (excellent) ratings from their judges. Their judges were Jaimee Belnap from Utah and Derek Furch from Park City, Utah.
Pinedale vocal had eight solos and one ensemble participating on Saturday. All vocal solos and ensembles received II (excellent) ratings. The soloists were Sadie Nelson, Jeslyn McGinnis, Ju Sun Kim, Jennifer Petersen, Jackie Key, Amy Keyser, Codi Cramer and Erik Spencer. The vocal duet consisting of Jennifer Petersen and Amy Keyser also received a II rating on their ensemble. The vocal accompanists were JJ Huntley, Chris Cramer and Jaclyn Nelson.
The Pinedale vocal department is under the direction of Gena Anderson and the Pinedale instrumental department is under the direction of R. Craig Sheppard.
Come out and listen to these young musicians perform in their last concerts of the year at the Pinedale Auditorium, Tuesday April 26th (Jazz Concert), Thursday, May 5th (Spring All Choirs Concert), and Monday, May 9th (Spring All Bands Concert). All these concerts start at 7 PM in the Pinedale Auditorium, and there will be no admission charged.
