Wind Advisory
Strong winds with approaching cold front
April 13, 2005
An approaching cold front will bring strong winds to western and central Wyoming Wednesday. Many areas will experience 30-40 mph winds with gusts to 50 mph, especially over southern Wyoming and the higher mountains. Scattered thunderstorms may develop in the afternoon Wednesday producing local strong wind gusts up to 50 mph. As the cold front pushes south across the state Wednesday night, rain showers are expected to turn to snow, with 4-6 inches of new snow in the mountains. Teton Pass may get 1-3 inches of snowfall by Thursday morning.
The upcoming weekend will be mostly sunny with daytime temperatures in the 50s to 60 degrees, perfect for the last weekend of skiing, snowboarding, and the on-the-snow golf tournament to finish off the winter season at White Pine!
The next weather system is expected to move into western Wyoming Monday and Tuesday, bringing a mixture of rain, thunderstorms and mountain snow. Daytime temperatures next week will stay in the 50s to 60s.
