Wyoming Ground Squirrel

The Wyoming Ground Squirrel can be found in colonies on dry slopes in southern Wyoming. They feed on sagebrush and green vegetation and live in burrows with as many as eight entrances. They grow up to a foot in length and weigh slightly less than a pound. This one was spotted near the Lander Trail near Big Piney last week.
