Harwood Principal of the Day Pinedale Middle School student Justin S. Harwood read 86 books to earn the Principal of the Day Award from Principal Mike Vassallo. Peggy Bell looks on.

Justin S. Harwood, a sixth-grader at Pinedale Middle School has earned the Principal of the Day Award. Justin said he read eighty-six books to earn the award. Justin’s favorite book is 'Eragon' by Christopher Paolini. "I like magical books and books about dragons and I like fantasy," he said. His favorite part of the Principal of the Day Award is that he will be allowed to select his own schedule for the day, going to the classes he prefers and being with his friends.

For those students who would like to earn the award, he gives this advice, "Read a lot. Get into books that you like a lot that are worth a lot of points." A thicker book is typically worth more points than a thin one and each book has to be approved as an accelerated reader book to count towards the award.
