Several of H. David Wright’s mountain man paintings were featured in the Museum of the Man’s new book, "The Fur Trade & Rendezvous of the Green River Valley", which was just released in July. One of his magnificent paintings was used on the cover of the book, which is available for sale at the Museum Wright was in Pinedale over the Green River Rendezvous in July for the book’s release and attended the author reception and book signing.
Wright’s work on "First Invasion: The War of 1812" competes with four other nominations (77th Academy Awards, American Idol, Episode 419, 47th Grammy Awards, and MADtv, Episode 1006) in the "Outstanding Art Direction For A Variety, Music Program, Or Special." He also played the part of Major General Sam Smith, hero of the Battle of Baltimore. Native Sun Productions and award-winning producer/director Gary Foreman produced the historically-authentic High Definition television presentation.
"It was truly a labor of love," said Wright. "Working with Native Sun Productions and director Gary Foreman, a great historian and master of the visual arts, was a rewarding experience in itself. The Emmy nomination is icing on the cake, and I am humbled."
