Punchers defeat Wranglers 37-8
High School Football Rivalry Game

The Pinedale Wranglers faced Big Piney on the Puncher field Friday afternoon for their rivalry game. Coming into the game, the teams had the same season record and the winner would make it to the playoffs. The weather was beautiful and a big crowd turned out to support both teams.

Big Piney took the lead in the 1st quarter, 6-0. By the end of the 2nd quarter, Big Piney was ahead of the Wranglers 27-0. The Wranglers made a valiant effort, but Big Piney pulled away even further in the 3rd and 4th quarters leading 37-0 with Seth Linn and Levi Greenwood making the big plays. Late in the 4th quarter, Pinedale’s Wes Werbelow, recovered a fumble and was able to break away for a touchdown, which was topped off with a two-point conversion pass from Jason Vickery to Joe Steege, to put the Wranglers on the board at the end 37-8.
