Forest Plan Revision Workshops scheduled
Workshop in Pinedale December 8th
November 13, 2005
(Pinedale) The Bridger-Teton National Forest (BTNF) will be holding a series of public workshops in December to obtain public input on the revision of the Bridger-Teton Forest Plan. The four workshops will be in Pinedale, Kemmerer, Thayne and Teton Village.
These workshops are part of a continual effort on the part of the Forest to meet with and involve local and regional communities in the revision of the Bridger-Teton Land and Resource Management Plan, also known as the Forest Plan. Forest officials will be present at each location, as both workshop participants and subject matter specialists.
This second round of public workshops has been designed so members of the public and Forest Officials can discuss and refine what the Forest Plan Revision Team has learned so far about Desired Conditions for the Bridger-Teton as a result of the July workshops with the public. The primary intent of this second round of interactive workshops is to learn what further adjustments are needed to the Desired Conditions before proceeding further in the Forest Plan Revision process. The current Bridger-Teton Forest Plan was completed in 1990.
In order to accomplish workshop objectives and meet the intent of the new rule, Forest Officials are encouraging the public to attend any of these workshops for the full time allotted. "We know it’s a lot to ask of the public, but the future of public lands is dependent on the people’s willingness to meaningfully engage the government in its planning process," stated Bridger-Teton Forest Supervisor Kniffy Hamilton.
