The Mountain States Better Business Bureau is warning seniors of a scam, where crooks are posing as government agents or approved Medicare providers, and calling upon seniors to "sign them up" for the new Medicare plan. The BBB urges seniors to not give out any personal information, especially social security numbers and banking numbers, to anyone calling upon them, without first making absolutely sure that they are who they say they are.

The BBB recommends that seniors obtain as much information as possible about the person calling on them, and then call the Medicare office, toll-free, at 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227) to verify if they are legit or not.
