Riverton man killed in crash near Big Piney

(Big Piney) A Riverton, Wyoming man was killed on Friday, November 18th, in a single-car roll-over accident approximately 1.5 miles south of Big Piney.
According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol, Nicho H. Sotelo, age 28, was driving a Chevy Suburban southbound on US 189 around 1:46 pm when he failed to negotiate a right-hand curve in the roadway. The vehicle went off the west side of the roadway, at which time the driver overcorrected the vehicle’s steering to the left. This maneuver caused the vehicle to come back onto the roadway crossing both lanes of travel in a broadside slide. The vehicle then rolled. During the rollover, Sotelo, who was not wearing his seat belt, was ejected and died at the scene. Roads in the area were clear and dry at the time of the crash.
This is Wyoming Fatal #155 for 2005. Last year at this time Wyoming's fatal count stood at 147.
