Snowmobile event dates set
One Lunger, SnoCross, Snow Drags, Fun Rides

The Pinedale Snow Explorers Snowmobile Club has announced the dates for their club activities and this winter’s big local snowmobiling events. Below is the tentative schedule. Dates could have last-minute changes, so check back to confirm the dates as things get closer.
Tentative 2006 Snowmobile Event Schedule:
Jan. 7 (Sat): 2006 One Lunger Snowmobile Race Sagebrush Downs track in Cora
Jan. 21-22 (Sat & Sun): 2006 Heart 2 Heart SnoCross In Bondurant
Feb. 11 (Sat): 2006 Pinedale Snow Drags Sagebrush Downs track in Cora
March 24-26 (Fri-Sun): 2006 World Championship Hillclimb In Jackson

Some events may have a small gate fee at the entrance for spectators. For the complete Snowmobile Club event and ride schedule, see the links at the end of this article.
If you are interested in coming to town for any of these events (or for general visiting and snowmobiling), we strongly encourage visitors to make lodging reservations now to secure a room this winter. We still have a motel room shortage due to the oil and gas boom, and those who don’t book rooms in advance and just show up expecting to find one when they get to town may be greeted with a No Vacancy sign. This is especially true of any event weekends and over the holidays. See the end of this article for links to local lodging.
The nearby mountains have a dusting of an inch or two of snow. Enthusiasts can track the mountain snow depth through our area webcams and the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) automatic SNOTEL snow depth monitors (see links below).
