Winter Storm in Pinedale A winter storm brought snow and slippery roads to Pinedale on Monday.

An early winter storm brought full winter conditions to Pinedale on Monday. Two to three inches of new snow fell during the early morning hours creating extremely slick conditions throughout the day. The Sublette County Sheriff’s Office responded to numerous reports of vehicles sliding off the road, roll-overs and fender benders. Emergency service personnel reported having difficulty responding to calls with the slick, slushy roads and blowing snow creating extremely hazardous road conditions.

Heavy snowfall and strong winds created limited visibility across southwest Wyoming. U.S. Highway 191 was closed from I-80 to the Utah border. Chain law was in effect for U.S. Highway 89 between Afton and the Idaho border, as well as for Teton Pass. Black ice advisories were in effect for many highways. The Snake River Canyon highway was slick with strong winds and blowing snow creating limited visibility.
