Howard Jones
December 12, 2005
Howard Jones, 49 of Kemmerer, was killed on Saturday, December 10, in a one-vehicle roll-over crash about ten miles south of Boulder on US Highway 191.
According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol, Jones was southbound on US 191 a little after midnight when he failed to negotiate a slight left-hand curve in the roadway. His vehicle went off the right side of the highway into the barrow ditch. The vehicle traveled in the barrow ditch for several hundred yards and then rolled several times coming to rest on the driver's side. Jones, who was not wearing a seat belt, was partially ejected from the truck cab during the rollover, and died at the scene.
Road conditions at the time of the crash were dry and the weather was clear. No other vehicles or people were involved in this accident.
The Jones accident is the 159th highway fatality in Wyoming for 2005. Last year at this same time Wyoming's fatal count was at 151.
