For those who have been waiting for an update to 'Off the Paved Road' by James Rogers, the latest story is up! In this edition, James tells about his encounter with a grizzly bear this hunting season while archery elk hunting on Elk Mountain. Here’s an excerpt:

"I had killed a nice 6-point bull a couple of days before and so was unarmed in every sense of the word. No pepper spray or sidearm, just a pair of 8 x 32 Swarovski binoculars and a couple of granola bars and bottles of water in my daypack... Then, all of sudden, I heard some movement off to my right. Looking that way I was sure that I had blown a heard of elk in the wrong direction, but that was not the case. Instead, it was full grown grizzly running at full speed right towards me..."
