IPSSSDR Sled Dog Race comes to Pinedale

(Pinedale) The 11th annual International Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race (IPSSSDR) has begun, and the Pinedale Stage Stop leg will occur Sunday through Tuesday.
This is the largest sled dog race in the lower 48 states. The race has stage stops in Jackson, Lander, Pinedale, Kemmerer, Diamondville, Evanston, Lyman, Mountain View, Alpine and Park City, Utah.
Racers will be competing for a $10,000 purse. Race sponsor, Pedigree, is making pet food donations to animal shelters in towns along the race route. As part of the race benefits, flu vaccinations are being donated to the Sublette County Public Health Nurse.

SCHEDULE Sunday, January 29: Dog Show and Musher Reception in Pinedale Mushers and teams arrive from Lander. 3:00 PM: Doggie Dress-Up Show, Senior Center 6:30 PM: Musher Reception Dinner and Calcutta at Rendezvous Pointe (Cost is $5 for adults, $3 for children under 12)
Monday, January 30: Upper Green Race 12:00 Noon: Race begins at Green River Lakes parking lot. 45-mile loop on the Continental Divide Snowmobile Trail.
Tuesday, January 31: Upper Green to Pinedale Race 9:00 AM: Race begins at Green River Lakes parking lot. 33-mile race from Upper Green, along Cora Highway 352 and US Hwy 191 into Pinedale to the American Legion Park. Fastest teams should arrive at finish line by 10:30 am. All teams should be in by 1:30 pm. Concessions and hot drinks will be available. Calcutta winners will be announced. Mushers and teams will leave to race in Alpine on Wednesday to continue the race.
