Snowshoeing at Buckskin Crossing
January 29, 2006
Dave Bell went snowshoeing along the Big Sandy River by historic Buckskin Crossing on Sunday. 'The snow is about 20 inches deep, and the day was about a 10', Dave said. Buckskin Crossing was an important river crossing and resting place for immigrants using the Lander Cutoff of the Oregon Trail as they made their way west during the 1800s. For more pictures from Dave's snowshoeing trip, and many other scenic photos of the area, see his Photo Gallery.
