(Pinedale) Dennis Stenger has been selected as the new field manager for the Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) office in Pinedale. He will assume the helm of the BLM Pinedale Office on Feb. 20, 2006.
"We are very fortunate to have Dennis Stenger become the new Pinedale Field Office manager. He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge in minerals and lands; has great people skills and is very familiar with Wyoming. Dennis has proven to be an excellent leader throughout his BLM career, and I consider it fortunate that he is returning to Wyoming in Pinedale where his skills will be put to good use," said Bob Bennett, BLM Wyoming state director.
Stenger returns to Wyoming after serving as Deputy State Director (DSD) for Minerals and Lands in the BLM New Mexico State Office in Santa Fe, N.M. since October 2004. In his role there, Stenger was responsible for all minerals and lands programs for a four state region: N.M., Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas.
After graduating from Western State College in Gunnison, Colo., in 1972, Stenger worked as a geologist for a decade with the Union Carbide Corp. Beginning in 1983, he spent two years with the Minerals Management Service. Stenger began his BLM career in the Rock Springs office where he served five years as the branch chief for solid minerals, and five years as the assistant district manager for minerals. In 1995, he became the chief of minerals program operations for the BLM Wyoming State Office in Cheyenne, where he served for four years. Stenger's last job in Wyoming was in the BLM Buffalo Field Office, where he served as field manager from 1999-2004.
Stenger, and his wife, Bonnie, have two adult sons.
