Jonah Drill Rigs

Two of many operating drill rigs in the Jonah Field on Saturday, March 11th. The Jonah Field was discovered in 1993 and is one of the largest natural gas fields in North America. The Jonah Field is located approximately 30 miles south of Pinedale and 20 miles east of Big Piney. Another booming development area is the Pinedale Anticline, just north of the Jonah Field. Drilling activity on the Anticline is clustered in a swath approximately 1-3 miles wide by about 25 miles long on the Mesa desert south of Pinedale.
