PMS musicians at District Interschool Clinic
Pinedale Middle School

On Saturday, March 18th, nineteen Pinedale middle school musicians traveled to Evanston to perform in the Wyoming Southwest District Middle School Interschool Music Clinic. They were selected from nine school music programs in the area by the recommendations of their school band directors and choir directors. After practicing together all day, they performed a concert for the public in the Evanston High School Auditorium.
The director of the 76 member honor band was Derek Spitzer. Mr. Spitzer is the Treasure Mountain Middle School band director in Park City, Utah. He has taught band at all levels in South Dakota and Wyoming and was the Managing Director of the Casper Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps for three years.
Karen Willie was the director of the 76 voice honor choir this spring. Mrs. Willie has taught elementary, middle school and high school vocal music in Idaho and most recently Lyman, Wyoming. She teaches private piano lessons and now resides in Springville, Utah where she is a full time mom.
Middle schools participating were Evanston Davis, Evanston Middle, Lyman, Mt. View, Kemmerer, Cokeville, Afton, Big Piney and Pinedale.
Students in the honor choir from Pinedale were: Sierra Cunningham, Brindi McGinnis, Miranda Mitchell, Sadie Meeks, Jennifer Pape, Kelsey Jensen, Jessie White and Matazie Brewer. The Pinedale students in the honor band were Sami McCarty, Elisa Lowham, Landon Daniel, Ashlee Anderson, Amber Hurne, Deidre Eversull, Kodee Williams, Andi Noble, Niko Kolis, Casey Terrell, and Kyle Petersen. These students are under the direction of Gena Anderson – choir and R. Craig Sheppard – Band.
