Take an 'E' Field Trip on Raptors
Visit Grand Teton National Park birds of prey online
by Wyoming Game & Fish
March 8, 2006
The Wyoming Game and Fish Department would like to invite teachers and students across Wyoming and beyond to take an electronic field trip, eFieldTrip, to Grand Teton National Park and learn about the birds of prey that make the park their home. The eFieldTrip, "Grand Teton's Birds of Prey: Awesome Winged Predators", meets national science standards and provides a unique look at these amazing birds.
There is no cost for schools to participate. The eFieldTrip is offered as a free educational outreach opportunity by Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming Game and Fish and its other partners. Teachers who would like to have their students participate can pre-register by going to http://www.efieldtrips.org/Raptors
The eFieldTrip has three main components:
Virtual Visit An interactive online learning activity that teaches students about birds of prey and their habitat. After its premiere on March 6, 2006, the Virtual Visit will be available throughout the school year for students to use at a time of their choosing.
Trip Journal A worksheet that each student can complete as they participate in the Virtual Visit. The worksheet reinforces student learning.
Ask the Experts An opportunity for students to interact with and ask questions of the experts at Grand Teton National Park. On March 14-16, 2006, students submit questions via an online web form and receive answers within 1-2 days.
The eFieldTrip is being sponsored by Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming Game and Fish Department, Grand Teton Natural History Association, The Raptor Fund, and Distance Learning Integrators, Inc.
