April 7, 2006
Dayton Game Warden, Alan Osterland, received the Wyoming Game Warden’s Association 2005 "Officer of the Year" award at their annual meeting in Sheridan in late March. Sublette County Prosecutor Ralph Boynton received recognition as the association’s "Support Person of the Year". "Alan's law enforcement effort is exemplary and he is respected for his thorough but fair approach," said Joe Gilbert, Wyoming Game and Fish Department wildlife supervisor in Sheridan. "His outstanding investigative skills solve crimes against wildlife victims who have no voice or means of testifying on their own behalf."
Sublette County Prosecutor Ralph Boyton won the "Support Person of the Year" award for his efforts supporting and assisting wildlife officers with their cases and prosecuting several serious high profile wildlife cases in the past year. He has more than 20 years experience prosecuting cases in Wyoming.
"Ralph has an uncanny ability to apply all of his experiences in his prosecution of all crimes, and specifically to wildlife criminal prosecutions," said Pinedale Game Warden Brian Nesvik. "There are no questions he can't answer or legal issues he can't resolve."
