County Public Lands Policy ready for public review
Comment period ends Sept. 25th
August 24, 2006
The Sublette County Commissioners released the final draft of the Sublette County Public Lands Policy today, Thursday, August 24, and are seeking additional public comment.
There will now be a 30-day public comment period to gather more public input. Public comment on the final draft will be taken until Monday, September 25, 2006.
Copies of the draft of the Sublette County Public Lands Policy are available at the Sublette County Planning and Zoning Department at the Sublette County Courthouse in Pinedale, 21 S. Tyler Avenue. A printable PDF version is available at the link at the end of this article. The PDF requires Adobe Acrobat Reader to view.
We obtained copies of all the earlier comments that were submitted to the Commissioners that went into their consideration in creating this final draft and compiled them into a printable PDF for anyone who would like to read the earlier comments. This is a very large document, 7.5 megabytes, and we recommend downloading it only if you have a high-speed internet connection. Comments were sent in by approximately 25 people.
Some of the comments are hand written and are somewhat difficult to read. The originals of these comments can be viewed at the Sublette County Planning & Zoning office if anyone wants to view them. We are providing them so our readers can see if anyone else has expressed their point of view already in the comments. If not, we encourage concerned individuals to use this next 30-day comment period to write a letter expressing your perspective and sending it in for the Commissioners to consider for this final go-around of public input into their public lands policy document to give to managers of federal and state lands within Sublette County.
Comments can be submitted by letter or e-mail to Bart Myers, Sublette County Planner, e-mail: bartmyers@yahoo.ca, or dropped by the Sublette County Courthouse at 21 S. Tyler Ave, or mailed to PO Box 506, Pinedale, WY 82941.
Questions regarding the Public Lands Policy should be directed to Bart Myers at the Sublette County Planning and Zoning Department. His phone number is 307-367-4375, e-mail: bartmyers@yahoo.ca.
