Church fire

A fire broke out at the Pinedale Community United Church of Christ (Community Congreational Church) on Maybell Avenue a little before noon on Friday, sending flames shooting out of the roof. Pinedale firefighters quickly responded and put out the blaze. There is char damage to the outside of the western wall and roof. No one was injured in the blaze, and the cause is yet unknown. This was the first church in Pinedale, built in 1910. In the 1920s and '30s, volunteer firemen would ring the church bell when they needed to call firefighters. We'll post more information on this story when it comes available.
