Moose-Gypsum road closure lifted

Fire managers have lifted the road closure on the Moose-Gypsum Forest Road 680. The road had been closed due to the Battle Mountain fire, which has been burning since August 23rd. The road is now open to the public.
Fire behavior remains minimal, according to the Monday morning report, and demobilization of resources has begun on the Battle Mountain fire. The 1,370-acre fire is 85% contained. Crews will continue to work towards containment, line building, gridding, mop up and rehabilitation of fire lines. Firefighters are utilizing hose lays, engines, and helicopter bucket drops to mop-up the fire.
Forest users are reminded that there are still firefighters and fire-related traffic working the area and using this road, so please drive slowly and use caution while in the area.
Closures remain in effect for the Jim Creek Fire Use. The Pot Creek Roads #714 and 713, Boulder Basin Road #716 at the junction with #717, and Jim Creek Roads #710 at junction with #711 are closed to the public for safety.
Union Pass Road #600 is open to traffic over to Dubois. Roads #670 Leeds Creek, #637 Raspberry Creek and #672 Strawberry Creek are still closed.
Fire restrictions remain in effect for the Bridger-Teton National Forest. Campfires are not allowed except in designated recreation areas. Smoking is allowed only inside vehicles or in a three feet diameter area cleared of flammable vegetation.
