In a surprise upset, the Big Piney High School Punchers beat Newcastle 12-6 at their football game in Newcastle on Friday, October 27. Big Piney was 6th seed and Newcastle was 3rd seed in the standings at that point.
Even more of a surprise, 7th seed Glenrock beat 2nd seed Mountain View (score 7-0) at their game played in Mountain View on Friday.
These two upset games vault the Big Piney Punchers ahead in the standings to play in the semi-final games next week, with Big Piney to play lower seed Glenrock. The time has not yet been announced, but the game will be in Big Piney with a 1:00 or 2:00 pm kick-off.
In other games played on Friday Tongue River (1st seed) beat Greybull (8th seed) 46-0 at Tongue River.
Lyman (5th seed) upset Kemmerer (4th seed) 16-14 in Kemmerer.
Lyman will play at Tongue River next week in the semi finals.
Teams remaining in the playoffs Tongue River (9-0), Lyman (6-3), Big Piney (5-4), Glenrock (5-4)
During regular season, Tongue River beat Glenrock 12-0 and Lyman beat Big Piney 35-23.
