October 24, 2006
The Sublette County Sheriff’s Office sent out a news release today regarding last Wednesday's accident between two trucks on the bridge over the Green River on WYO Highway 351:
On Wednesday, October 18, 2006, the Sublette County Sheriff’s Office, Sublette County Emergency Management, Big Piney/Marbleton Fire Department, Boulder Fire Department, Pinedale Fire Department and two ambulances from the Marbleton clinic, along with Wyoming Highway Patrol, responded to an accident on Wyoming 351, mp 7.3 on the Green River Bridge. At the accident it was found that a cement mixer belonging to Enercrest of Marbleton, Wyoming, had blown a left front tire on the mixer as it was meeting a semi-truck pulling an empty belly dump trailer owned by Dan Denevan. The cement mixer struck the trailer, causing it to break loose from the tractor and overturning onto the guard rail on the north side of the bridge. The drum on the mixer struck the tractor causing extensive damage and it came to rest against the south guard rail. The cement mixer over turned on its side, spilling cement onto the bridge, and came to rest sideways on the bridge. The highway was closed for about 4-1/2 hours until the trucks and concrete could be removed. The accident was investigated by the Wyoming Highway Patrol.
