New Pinedale Blog
Ways to stay informed on area happenings
October 22, 2006
Anyone interested in another way to keep in touch with what is happening in Pinedale is encouraged to check out a new online blog that has recently been sent up. “Things are happening so fast in Sublette County none of us is able to keep up. If only we could figure out a way to get the word out fast about all the meetings, notifications, comment periods, rumors, etc., we might even be able to stay a little bit ahead,” posted Pam Curry. The “Pinedale Central” blog site can be found at: http://www.wyopolis.blogspot.com
In addition to this online blog, there are two other online communication forums available. Lynn Babcock started a Sublette chat forum last April, the Sublette Group, as a Yahoo group chat: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SubletteCounty. “I am putting a group together for Sublette County to talk about events in the community... gardening topics, little chat stuff mostly. There's a calendar to keep track of events. .. if know anybody else that is from Sublette County that would like to be part of the group please tell them about it too.”
The Town of Pinedale and Pinedale Online have an online e-mail list service that allows members to send e-mails to the other members on the list service. Replies also go back to everyone on this list. The TOPLIST is intended to quickly send an e-mail alert to people interested in things happening in Pinedale. This is a proactive notice that comes via e-mail, rather than relying on having to check on a website to get local alerts or news. This e-mail board is not intended as a social exchange on casual topics, but rather has a very local focus on Sublette County news and notices of meetings, events or topics related to community meetings, rapid developments etc that is of interest to the business community and those involved with county management and social issues. If interested in being placed on the TOPLIST, send an e-mail to support@pinedaleonline.com.
The Sublette County Joint Tourism Promotion Board has recently gone live with their new website, www.mountainmancountry.com. It still has many pages under construction, but a lot of great content is up already. They will be adding a blog section on that site as well. Their blog topics will be fishing, hiking, hunting, Wind River Mountain Range, trailheads, Green River Rendezvous, and more.
