The Wyoming Game and Fish Department will soon be accepting entries for the 24th Annual Wyoming Conservation Stamp Art Competition.
This competition crowns the painting that will be featured on Wyoming's 2008 Conservation Stamp. This year's featured species is the black-footed ferret (Mustela nigripes). Entries will be accepted beginning Feb.1, 2007, but must be postmarked and/or delivered to the Game and Fish Cheyenne Office by March 15, 2007. An entry form, artist's data sheet and non-refundable $20 entry fee must accompany the entry.

Selection of the winning artwork will take place April 13, 2007 at the Wyoming State Museum, 2301 Central Avenue in Cheyenne. A panel of judges, representing the arts, printing and wildlife management, will be chosen by the Game and Fish in consultation with the Wyoming Arts Council. Last year's competition featured 55 artists from 20 states and Canada.
First-place receives $2,500 Second place, $1,500 Third place, $1,000 Fourth place, $500 Fifth place, $250.
The entries, except for first-place, will be for sale and exhibited at the museum through June 1, 2007, with the second- through fifth-place and honorable mention artwork on display and for sale on the Game and Fish Web site on or about April 30, 2007 - Oct. 1, 2007.
