The Great Outdoor Shop in Pinedale is a treasure trove filled with everything the outdoors person could want or need. It's not a huge store, but it is packed from floor to ceiling with gear for the outdoor enthusiast.

These guys know outdoor gear! What's more, they understand Wyoming, so they have the right gear for our fast-changing weather and rugged terrain. The salespeople hike, climb, fish, ski, snowboard, mountain bike, and more, so they know from personal experience what gear is needed and the right equipment for the activity.

You'll find sleeping bags, down coats, warm sweaters and booties, hats and gloves, socks perfect for Wyoming weather, snowboards and skis, boots, thermal undergarments, hiking boots, walking and running shoes, backpacks, GPS equipment, headlamps, avalanche safety equipment, high-energy foods, camping and fishing gear, topo maps for the Wind River Mountains, guidebooks for the Bridger Wilderness, and much, much more. From stocking stuffers to high-end gear, this is an awesome store for high-quality outdoor equipment.

One of the people you might be lucky to meet when you go in the Great Outdoor Shop is outdoor and landscape photographer Fred Pflughoft. When he's not out on extended photo shoots for one of his books, he can be found helping customers at the store. Fred's stunning photography is showcased in an impressive collection of books including, "Great Lodges of the West", "Wyoming Wild and Beautiful", Yellowstone Wild and Beautiful", Old Faithful Inn at Yellowstone", "Wyoming Impressions". You can find autographed copies of some of his Wyoming books for sale at the Great Outdoor Shop.

We went through the store and found a lot of things we thought were really neat. There's something for everyone here, outdoor sports nut or couch jockey. Here are pictures of some of the things we liked. The Great Outdoor also is happy to do gift certificates in any denomination, perfect for that sports person who wants to pick everything out for themselves.

Headlamps These are great for the short days we get during our Wyoming winters. These headlamps are extremely practical. Use them for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, hiking, or grabbing firewood in the dark. They have a wide variety of styles to choose from.	Ear Phone Head Warmers Keep your ears warm and still listen to your favorite music!	Warm sport shirts and sweaters These shirts and sweaters are selected to be right for Wyoming's weather. There's a good selection of both men's and women's warm sweaters and sport shirts.

Warm Socks After you've found the warm coat, hat and gloves, don't forget the warm socks. The Great Outdoor Shop has a good selection of Wyoming-perfect socks for the outdoors person.
