Pinedale BLM DEIS due out in January 2007
New Pinedale Resource Management Plan
December 7, 2006
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is continuing work on developing a new Resource Management Plan (RMP) for the Pinedale Field Office and an associated Environmental Impact Statement (EIS). This has been an on-going process since February, 2002. The Draft EIS is expected to be complete in January, 2007.
Once released, the BLM will hold another series of public meetings in Pinedale, Marbleton, Jackson and Rock Springs. The meeting times and locations will be posted on the project website, www.blm.gov/rmp/wy/pinedale. Once released, the DEIS can be downloaded from this website. The DEIS will have the Preferred Alternative as well as the other reasonable planning alternatives, including No Action, which have been developed in the BLM management plan options.
The public will have a 90-day comment period on the DEIS once it is officially released and published in the Federal Register along with the Notice of Availability.
Copies of the DEIS will be distributed as CDs to all parties included on the BLM mailing list. Paper copies will be available at the BLM Pinedale Field Office and the Wyoming State Office. To request a paper copy, contact Kellie Roadifer at the Pinedale BLM by hone at 307-367-5309 or by e-mail at pinedale_wymail@blm.gov by December 15, 2006.
