December 11, 2006

Pinedale officially kicked off the 2006 Christmas holiday season last weekend. Santa arrived in town on Thursday, stopping by the Sublette County Library. With the help of the local FFA Chapter, he posed for dozens of pictures while he held children on his lap.

Local businesses were open late Saturday for holiday shopping offering special sales and discounts.

The Sublette County Chamber of Commerce held the annual Pinedale tree lighting in front of Wise Connections on north Tyler Avenue, across from the under-construction Visitor's Center. Local vocal group, Sweet Harmony, sang Christmas carols. Hot chocolate and apple cider was on hand to keep everyone warm.

Follwing the tree lighting, the annual night-time "Parade of Lights" came down main street. Spectators lined the Pine Street to see the variety of colorful lighted floats.

After the parade, children were invited to the Sublette County Library for a Chirstmas party with treats and crafts.

The 2006 Mountain Man Christmas in Pinedale was sponsored and organized by the Sublette County Chamber of Commerce.

There is always something to do in Pinedale! Happy Holidays!
