Chamber of Commerce Luncheon Jan. 24
'Bugs Got Your Trees Down?'
by Sublette County Chamber of Commerce
January 9, 2007
Are Wyoming's forests healthy? Are the trees planted within the community of Pinedale healthy? Wyoming's trees, whether in a forested environment or within a community, have been under considerable attack lately from a variety of insects, diseases, and abiotic agents. What are the primary agents responsible for the tree mortality seen in Wyoming's forests?
The Sublette County Chamber of Commerce will be holding its first monthly Community Conversation Luncheon to address these questions on Wednesday, January 24th, at Noon at Rendezvous Pointe.
There will be two speakers at this month’s luncheon.
Les Koch, Forest Health Specialist with the Wyoming State Forestry Division, will give tips on how to identify and control these agents and will tailor the presentation to tree species specific to Pinedale and the surrounding area. He will also discuss the 'red flags' that sometimes can help homeowners and landowners prevent the problem before it occurs. Informational and literature sources will also be discussed.
In addition, Doris Woodburry, Superintendent SCSD #1, will give a brief report on the ramification of the passing of Amendment B.
The luncheon is open to the public, so everyone is invited. Lunch at Rendezvous Pointe is $6 for those under 50 and $3 for those over 50.
If you have program ideas or would like information about sponsoring these luncheons, please contact the Sublette County Chamber of Commerce at 307-367-2242, or e-mail sublettechamber@wyoming.com.
