The 3rd annual Heart 2 Heart SnoCross race is scheduled to be held on Saturday & Sunday, January 20-21 in Bondurant.
The race is part of the Mountain West Racing )MWR) winter series. The Bondurant event is the third in a series of seven races, which culminate at the SnoWest SnoCross/World Snowmobile Expo held in West Yellowstone, Montana, on March 16-18.
The Heart 2 Heart event will be held on the Heart 2 Heart Ranch, owned by Layne and Norris Brown in Bondurant. The race is sponsored by the Jackson Hole Snow Devils. The Pinedale Snow Explorers Snowmobile Club will be selling refreshments both days at the event.
The Virginian Lodge in Jackson, Wyoming, will serve as race headquarters for the 2007 Heart 2 Heart SnoCross. Registration will be from 6:00-8:00 pm on Friday night, January 19, in the conference room of the Lodge. Rooms can be reserved at the Virginian by calling 307-733-2792.
Note that no lodging is available in Bondurant for this event. The Elk Horn in Bondurant has gas, convenience store foods, restaurant and a bar, but their cabins are already full. The closest “chain type” motel lodging is in Jackson Hole 34 miles to the north and Pinedale approximately 43 miles to the south. Pinedale has three chain-type motels with swimming pools and continental breakfast (The Lodge at Pinedale, Amerihost Inn and Pinedale Best Western), as well as several other very nice, smaller family-operated motels. Mountain West Racing races have categories for Pro, Semi-Pro, Sports, Women’s, Masters, Juniors, Junior Novice, and 120 4-Stroke Class. Classes relate to the age of the racer, the competitive level of the racer, and the type of snowmobile the racer is competing on. The Senior Division includes the Women’s, Masters, Sport, Semi Pro and Pro classes. Youth Racing refers to all classes for competitors 17 years of age and younger. Racers must be members of MWR to participate.
Racers will compete in several more races in Oregon, Montana and Idaho in January and February, with the series ending at the SnoWest SnoCross/World Snowmobile Expo in West Yellowstone, Montana, March 16-18. Race results and racer profiles are posted on the MWR website.
