Hunting application periods underway

(Cheyenne) - Beginning January 2, Wyoming Game and Fish Department application periods for big game licenses officially got underway.
January 31 is the deadline for nonresidents to apply for elk and residents and nonresidents alike to apply for spring turkey and the bison priority list. The nonresident application period for deer and antelope is also underway, but nonresidents have until March 15 to get their application in for those species. Both residents and nonresidents have until February 28 to get their applications in for moose, bighorn sheep and mountain goat. The resident application period for limited quota elk, deer and antelope licenses is the month of May.
Hunters may apply using the traditional application booklet or by using the Game and Fish's new Online Hunting Application Service, available through the department's web site.
All applications must be received via mail or online by 5 pm on the application deadline date. Hunters needing an application booklet or with questions about the application process can call (307) 777-4600, or write Wyoming Game and Fish Dept., 5400 Bishop Blvd. Cheyenne, WY 82006. Applications are also available online on the Game and Fish web site at http://gf.state.wy.us.
Resident application booklets are also available from Game and Fish regional offices and license agents throughout the state.
