Local Sage Grouse group to convene Jan. 8
by Wyoming Game & Fish
January 5, 2007
(Pinedale) - The Upper Green River Basin Local Sage Grouse Working Group will hold a brief meeting Monday, January 8th, at the Pinedale Library starting at 11:00 am. The group is one of seven local working groups that were formed across the state to address declining sage grouse populations and hopefully prevent the bird from being listed under the Endangered Species Act.
The group is comprised of nine local citizens, representing groups interested in sage-grouse conservation. The role of the group is to develop and set in motion local conservation plans to benefit sage grouse and, whenever feasible, other species that use sagebrush habitats.
The public is invited to attend the meeting and a public participation period will be scheduled. The G&F supports the Americans with Disabilities Act. Anyone needing auxiliary aids to attend this meeting should call (800) 423-4113. Every effort will be made for reasonable accommodations.
