Evanston youth killed in crash north of Marbleton

Michael T. Woodley, age 17, of Evanston, was killed in a crash on Highway 189 eight miles north of Marbleton on Saturday, February 24.
According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol, Woodley was driving his 1991 Chevrolet pickup southbound on US 189 around 6:00 pm when his vehicle went off the right hand shoulder around mile post #116. Road conditions were dry. Woodley then steered his vehicle back onto the roadway where he overcorrected the steering to the right causing the vehicle to rotate clockwise and into a broadside slide off of the roadway into the barrow ditch. The vehicle then rolled 1-1/2 times during which Woodley, who was not wearing his seat belt, was totally ejected from the vehicle. The vehicle then became airborne clipping the right-of-way fence and then landing and coming to rest on its wheels on the opposite of the right-of-way fence.
