Wyoming’s Poet Laureate, David Romtvedt, will be hosting a very special poetry workshop on Monday, February 12 at 7 pm in the Pinedale Library Lovatt Room.
The evening will feature live music, free chocolate and wine as Romtvedt will read from classic works of love poetry as well as some of his original work on the same subject. He will also touch upon the techniques of writing love poetry and will convey some the pieces with live music featuring Sweet Harmony of Pinedale.
The evening is free to the public and provides a great way to celebrate Valentine’s Day this year. So bring a date if you wish, or just show up stag to catch one interesting evening of music, drink and poetry with one of the state’s finest writers.
Romtvedt has won creative writing fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Wyoming Arts Council. He is the author of nine books of poetry and prose. He is currently in the middle of a three-week-long residency in the Pinedale Elementary School and High School.
An evening of poetry is presented by the Pinedale Fine Arts Council and the Sublette County Library. For more information, please call 307-367-7322.
