The National Weather Service out of Riverton has issued a Snow Advisory through 6:00 AM Thursday. Snowfall will increase across the western mountains Wednesday and continue the rest of the day and into the night. Snow is expected to be heavy at times.

Pacific moisture will stream East toward Western Wyoming today and tonight. Six to 10 inches of snowfall is expected to accumulated by late Wednesday night. In addition, West to Southwest winds of 25-35 mph will create considerable blowing and drifting snow.

Snow fall will range from 5 inches at White Pine Ski Area to 10 inches over the higher mountains.

East of the Continental Divide, strong Southwest wind gusts of 45 to 55 mph are expected across the east slopes of the Wind River Mountains today (Wednesday). Wind gusts of 45-55 mph also may occur.

A snow advisory means that periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Drivers should be prepared for snow-covered roads and limited visibilities. Use caution while driving.
