Adult Softball league forming
Looking for players

With the recent onset of nice spring weather and thoughts of summer it seemed like there should be an organized weekly activity to enjoy the weather and get folks together. Pinedale needed some cheap, weekly fun to get the newcomers and old timers together and a sports league seemed like the way to do it.
Adult Softball used to be a regular summer activity in Sublette County in the late 70’s and early 80’s, it was in its heyday and featured some competitive players as well as those out there just for fun. There were about 5 women’s teams and 5 men’s teams.
Softball slowly fizzled out and other summer sports came into vogue in the community including boating, golfing and other activities. The local golf course still maintains both men’s and women’s league.
Dudley Key organized the softball program during most of that time and still has equipment as well as a small pot of funds for new equipment. Kate Grimes and Betty Golden are hoping to restart the league with Dudley’s assistance. Dudley has offered to umpire and help with the organization of teams and games. Kate and Betty are hoping to get some interest and at least 3 teams to start the league. It will be a casual, coed league for those 18 and over and no experience is necessary. Games will be once a week on a weekday after 5 pm, with half an hour to practice before the game, and will start sometime the beginning of May, weather permitting. You can sign up as an individual and be assigned to a team or get a local business to sponsor you and your teammates.
Please contact us for more information or to sign up! Kate Grimes at 307-690-1764 or Betty Golden at 367-2797.
