Big Winds
March 27, 2007
March is a transition month, with warmer weather of spring trying to push out winter. The clash often brings unsettled weather for several weeks where we can get snow, rain, hail, thunderstorms, lightning, stong wind and sunshine all in the same day. Tuesday, a series of strong thunderstorms built up causing the National Weather Service to issue a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for the Upper Green River Valley and warning of winds up to 60 mph and warninig of dangerous lightning. Strong winds blew shingles off roofs, turned over garbage cans and scattered paper and debris around Pinedale and Big Piney. Things settled down again by late Tuesday afternoon.
