G&F COMMISSION MEETS MARCH 15-16 IN CASPER COMMISSIONER ORIENTATION MARCH 14
An overview of the recent legislature's action on wildlife bills and an update on chronic wasting disease surveillance and research highlight the March 15-16 Wyoming Game and Fish Commission meeting in Casper.
The commission will also receive a presentation on the bison and elk management plan and environmental impact statement for the Jackson area.
Other topics to be presented to the seven-member governing board of the Game and Fish Department: -- Sublette Mule Deer Study Annual Report -- Wildlife and Natural Resource Trust Account Update -- Game and Fish's Mule Deer Initiative -- 2008-09 fish regulation process -- Internet big game applications and upcoming "point of sale" system of agents issuing licenses by computer.
At approximately 4:20 p.m. March 15, public comments will be accepted on topics not on the agenda. Feedback on agenda items will be accepted following each presentation if time permits. Attendees are encouraged to arrive before scheduled times in case the agenda is ahead of schedule. Agenda times are tentative and subject to change.
The meeting begins at 9:15 p.m. March 15 and 8 a.m. March 16 at the Casper Game and Fish Office, 3030 Energy Lane.
In addition, the Game and Fish is conducting an orientation March 15, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. for new commissioners Fred Lindzey of Laramie and Ed Mignery of Sundance. The orientation is also open to the public and covers commission authority and procedure, department functions and the Wildlife Heritage Foundation of Wyoming.
