I-90 Closed after multiple vehicle crash
Between Sheridan and Buffalo; Involves semi-trucks and a school bus; No fatalities

(Buffalo) Troopers and Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) field personnel have closed Interstate 90 in both directions between Sheridan and Buffalo following a multi-vehicle crash, which included a school bus. (I-90 is the east-west interstate in northeast Wyoming.) The school bus was carrying students from Tongue River High School in Dayton. Fortunately, there were no injuries to passengers or the driver.
Details are still sketchy from WYDOT at this time, as Wyoming Highway Patrol Troopers are still at the scene investigating the crash and At this time we cannot provide full details about the crash as Troopers are still directing resources to the scene and attempting to clear the roadway.
The crash occurred around 8:44 a.m. on the eastbound lanes of Interstate 90, mile post #45 which is approximately 12 miles north of Buffalo in Johnson County. First reports are that the crash involved up to 4 semi tractor trailer combination units, a school bus and a passenger vehicle. At least one tractor trailer combination hauling diesel fuel has overturned and there is a leak of fuel coming from the overturned trailer. Troopers have called for extrication and ambulance for victims in at least one passenger vehicle. Troopers are also responding to reports of other vehicle crashes in the area between mile posts #40 thru #46. No fatalities were reported, and there have been 3 or 4 injured persons transported by ground ambulance to Johnson County Memorial Hospital in Buffalo.
According to the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Cheyenne, the Sheridan and Buffalo areas are currently under a blizzard warning until 6:00 p.m. Thursday. Snowfall accumulations are expected to be 1 to 2 feet west of Interstate 25. Troopers in the Buffalo area report snowfall is very heavy at this time with limited visibility, blowing snow and strong winds.
