Rock Springs) - Springing ahead into warmer weather, the prime contractor for the Rock Springs Marginal, Pilot Butte/Dewar Drive sections is preparing to move forward with the reconstruction project on Interstate 80.
Along the Pilot Butte interchange area, motorists can see progress being made on preparing the landscape for restructuring of the interchange. Work will continue in this area with flaggers and appropriate traffic control measures in place. Minor delays should be expected.
Beginning the week of March 19, the inside lanes of both the westbound and eastbound lanes of the interstate between the Pilot Butte construction area and the Dewar Drive exit will be closed to traffic so the contractor can begin the construction of the crossover sections. Most of the work will be at the Pilot Butte end of the project, but motorists can expect reduced speed limits and delays throughout the project.
The Wyoming Department of Transportation reminds motorist to slow down and be alert while driving through the construction area, and to use caution when parking in the park and ride area off 9th Street, so as not to interfere with the construction vehicle traffic. Weekly updates on the project will be provided.
