Update on Tammy Burns
Injured in motocycle-semi accident in Pinedale on March 18
March 23, 2007
Sublette County resident Tammy Burns was seriously injured on Sunday, March 18, when she was riding a motorcycle and collided with a semi-truck in downtown Pinedale.
According to friends, Tammy was northbound on Franklin Avenue making a right-hand turn onto Pine Streety/Hwy 191. The semi truck was westbound on Pine Street, in the opposite lane of the one onto which Tammy was turning. The motorcycle made too wide a turn and slid into the semi. Pinedale nurse Marilyn Huffman happened on the scene and assisted her before the ambulance and EMS crews arrived.
According to friends, Tammy reportedly is doing better now, although she is still in Intensive Care in a hospital in Utah and cannot receive calls or visitors. She still faces more surgery due to the accident. Tammy’s family has had to rent a place to live in Utah in order to stay there while she recovers.
To make her situation even worse, shortly after the accident, the hot water heater in her home broke and caused extensive flooding damage.
Friends have set up a fund for Tammy at 1st Bank in Pinedale for donations. They will also be having a raffle for a Charles Daly Maxi-Mag 3-1/2 shotgun. Tickets will be sold for one week only and the drawing will be held at the Ducks Unlimited banquet on March 31. Raffle tickets are available at both 1st Bank, across from Obo’s, and High Country Taxidermy in Pinedale. Cost is 1 for $10 and 3 for $20. The gun can be seen at High Country Taxidermy. Pictures of the gun can be seen at 1st Bank.
