Fire consumed another home in Pinedale on Tuesday, April 10th.

The Sublette County Sheriff’s Office dispatched the Pinedale Volunteer Fire Department to 151 Redstone New Fork River Road at 11:30 AM for a report of a house on fire. Emergency responders from the Boulder, Daniel and Kendall Valley Volunteer Fire Departments also responded, along with Sublette EMS and Sublette Emergency Management personnel.

According to Sublette County Fire Warden T.J. Hunt, no one was home at the time of the blaze. The structure was a 2-story single-family dwelling with a basement, which officials confirmed belonged to Kurt Cordingly of Pinedale. Flames were fueled by strong winds of up to 20 miles per hour, which were compounded by cold temperatures and snow squalls and brief blizzard.conditions The cold and moisture combined to make ice issues, creating slip hazard safety issues for firefighters battling the blaze. No firefighters were injured.

The dwelling, which sits on a hill overlooking Pinedale and Rendezvous Meadows Golf Course, was gutted by the fire. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. State fire officials were on the scene on Wednesday doing more investigation into the cause. No estimate of damage was available at the time of this report.

This is the second fire to damage a home in Pinedale in the last three weeks. On March 23rd, a single-family home located at 367 N Tyler Avenue caught fire, just south of the Pinedale High School. No one was at home at the time of that blaze. That home also contained an office for the Pinedale Entertainment Center/AFEC, which sustained damage due to the fire.
